ZAKA VC-backed Flexkeeping acquired by Mews
Flexkeeping, a portfolio company of ZAKA VC, has been acquired by Mews. Following the transaction, ZAKA has become an economic shareholder of Mews, a unicorn in hospitality technology — marking the first unicorn in ZAKA’s history.
Mews, co-founded by Richard Valtr and Matthijs Welle and headquartered in Amsterdam, has grown into a global leader in hospitality software. Since its founding in 2012, Mews has evolved into a Series D company, raising hundreds of millions of dollars to expand its product platform and cover all aspects of hotel operations. With the acquisition of Flexkeeping, Mews integrates housekeeping automation and collaboration directly into its system, strengthening its position as a comprehensive operating environment for hotels.

Founded in Slovenia in 2012 by Luka Berger, Flexkeeping is a housekeeping and team collaboration solution that simplifies daily operations for hotels and is used by hospitality groups worldwide. Its focus on automation and real-time communication has made it a trusted partner for hotels aiming to increase efficiency and enhance guest satisfaction.
“Bringing Flexkeeping’s exceptional housekeeping technology into the Mews ecosystem marks a pivotal moment in hospitality tech. We’re unlocking new levels of operational efficiency and guest experience for forward-thinking hoteliers everywhere. Together, we will empower the next generation of hoteliers to operate smarter and deliver unmatched quality.”
Matt Welle, CEO of Mews.
The acquisition of Flexkeeping, managed by Mews Ventures, further cements Mews’ position as an industry innovation leader, committed to simplifying every aspect of hotel management for modern hoteliers.
“We are proud that a major hospitality player – Mews – has recognized the enormous potential of Flexkeeping, whose services are enthusiastically used by hotel groups across the world. For us, this is proof that we are on the right path, and we were rewarded with the first unicorn in the portfolio of ZAKA VC Fund 1.”
Ján Kasper, Co-Founder and Managing Partner at ZAKA VC.
With this major milestone, ZAKA has reaffirmed its investment strategy and continues to maintain strong momentum. ZAKA VC Fund 1 is currently in the middle of its investment period, focusing on exceptional projects in deep tech, industrial technology, and life sciences, while also supporting visionary founders in other verticals. The fund continues to strengthen its active presence in North America, supported by the recently established San Francisco office.
